At Atlantic Coast Physical Medicine we focus on rehabilitation of the spine and muscles. We specialize in providing the best combination of medical pain treatment and natural therapies to give our patients unique and incredibly effective pain relief.

Our team of medical professionals work together in delivering the highest quality cutting edge physical rehabilitation. By utilizing physical rehabilitation with your spine and muscles, our team can not only relieve your pain but also improve the function of your body as a whole and help you stay healthy.

After an initial evaluation, our practitioners will begin by customizing a plan that first uses medical pain relief, using natural and botanical agents that lower pain and inflammation in the body. Then, using chiropractic and massage therapy to accelerate the recovery period, we can get you out of pain faster and move you into active spinal rehabilitation. In this stage we focus on not only relieving chronically inflamed and painful areas, but also rehabilitating weakened muscles of the spine to strengthen them and aid in their stability.

This concentrated reconditioning of your spine and mobility will help alleviate your pain and aid in recovering from fatigue as well. We always include a session on home exercise and home therapies to aid in your recovery time. These unique exercises pay special attention to continually increasing the strength of your spine and help prevent re-injury or relapse.

Trigger Point Injections

Trigger Point Injection therapy is used to treat your most painful muscle areas. Trigger point injections can be used for a variety of muscle groups including the arms, legs, back and neck. This targeted treatment also helps relieve referred pain – when the pain you are feeling in one area can actually originate in a completely different part of your body. It is important to note that our trigger point injections are 100% NON STEROIDAL.

At our office, we exclusively use SARAPIN® trigger point injections. Toxicity tests revealed that SARAPIN® is harmless, and no adverse events have been associated with the use of SARAPIN® throughout its 70 year history.

Trigger Point Injections will help alleviate your pain quickly. Injections are given right here in our office and take only a few minutes. We can focus the treatment on one area or target multiple areas in a single visit depending on your individual needs.

Trigger Point Injections can also be used to treat fibromyalgia, migraines, and tension headaches. Trigger Point Injections are also used to alleviate chronic pain involving tissue that surrounds muscle (myofascial pain syndrome), which does not respond to other standard treatments.

Joint Injections

When necessary, we use joint injections to reduce inflammation or swelling of tissue in your joints. Once the swelling is minimized, you will notice reduced pain and other symptoms caused by the inflammation or irritation of your joint and surrounding structures.

Joint injections are used to treat inflammatory joint conditions such as; rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, tendonitis, bursitis, and occasionally osteoarthritis.

Typically we will inject a natural, plant –based solution used as an alternative to steroids or cortisone injections into your joint to relieve pain and discomfort. It may take a few days to a few weeks to feel significant pain relief. The Joint injection is quick, and the results can last up to several months.

Viscosupplementation Injections

Viscosupplementation injections are used to treat osteoarthritis of the knee as well as chronic and acute knee pain. For those suffering from knee pain that does not respond to other traditional methods, these injections have proven to be a highly effective method for knee pain relief.

Diagnostic Ultrasound

The use of diagnostic ultrasound helps our patients to both see and understand the extent of many health conditions. Diagnostic Ultrasound, also known as Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography), is an ultrasound-based diagnostic medical imaging technique. Ultrasound is used to visualize muscles, tendons, and internal organs to capture their size, structure, and any pathological lesions with real-time tomographic images.

Diagnostic Capabilities

With the help of x-rays, we can better evaluate your bone health and establish a more accurate diagnosis. X-rays allow both doctors and chiropractors to view your bones and joints with clarity and, to a lesser extent, the related soft tissues.

An x-ray can help determine if you have any genetic abnormalities, fractures, dislocations, arthritic conditions, infections of the bones and joints, or tumors. This knowledge helps us target your treatment plan for your best possible health outcome.
